Computer Products

A computer product is any electronic device that operates as part or as an accessory to a computer system.
Processors, memory, storage, motherboards, etc. would all be considered key components in a computer system. Most computers will require all of these parts in order to function properly. Although the technology behind these components continues to change as time passes, the role they serve within the computer system has not been replaced.
Devices such as a monitor, a computer mouse, a keyboard, a printer, and a joystick are all examples of input/output (IO) devices. In essence, these IO devices allow for a specific type of input (keystrokes, X-Y coordinates, etc.) to or output (display, printed page, etc.) from the computer. Depending on the computer's purpose, only specific IO devices are needed. An administrative assistant's computer would likely require a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and printer, but a web server needs none of these things.
Networking devices are a special category of computer products. Devices such as network gateways and network servers allow computers to be connected to other computers (and mobile devices) within the same home or office, or across the globe. Networking devices also typically provide computers with wireless (Wi-Fi) connectivity.
There are myriad other types of computer products available beyond what has been described here.
